‘Iole is a 501c3 non-profit founded in a partnered collaboration between Hawaii Community Foundation, University of Hawaii, and Arizona State University as a result of 2,400 acres being donated to HCF.  We are a Global Resilience Hub and facilitate ʻāina based learning, serve as a model of regenerative practices, and bridge indigenous knowledge and modern science to generate innovative climate solutions.

The ahupua’a ‘Iole is located in North Kohala on the Island of Hawai‘i. With just over 2,400 acres of land running from mauka to makai, and roughly a mile wide and 4 miles long, ‘Iole is home to diverse ecological resources and deep cultural significance, including a multitude of ecosystems, environmental features, significant historical sites, rich agricultural land, its own water system, and historic facilities.
