JOB SUMMARY
The Store Manager & Buyer oversees daily operations of the hotel’s retail outlet and cafe, ensuring high‑quality products, exceptional service standards, strong team performance, and efficient retail and coffee program management. This role also supports merchandising, inventory coordination, and select buying needs across the property.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in retail and cafe, or Food & Beverage operations.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of purchasing, ordering, and inventory management.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS
Operational Leadership:
- Oversee daily operations of Sunset Provisions.
- Maintain a strong floor presence and actively support the café team during service.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising standards across café and retail spaces.
- Ensure completion of opening and closing duties to company standards.
- Enforce health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling regulations.
- Promote the happy-spirited hospitality, culture, and lifestyle of Kaimana Beach Hotel.
- Maintain effective collaboration with Guest Services, F&B, Sales, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
- Communicate operational updates, needs, and challenges to property leadership.
Coffee Program Management:
- Create and develop signature coffee beverages.
- Train baristas on beverage preparation, quality standards, equipment use, and maintenance.
Team Management:
- Lead, coach, train, and motivate team members to deliver consistent service and uphold brand standards.
- Support scheduling, shift coverage, and staffing adjustments based on business needs.
- Assist with hiring, recruitment, onboarding, and performance reviews in partnership with HR and property leadership.
- Provide coaching, recognition, and corrective action when necessary.
- Ensure team appearance meets Kaimana Beach Hotel uniform guidelines.
Guest Experience:
- Welcome guests with warmth and professionalism, addressing questions, feedback, and concerns.
- Ensure guest satisfaction through service excellence and brand-driven hospitality.
- Collaborate with Guest Experience leadership on promotions, events, and guest-engagement initiatives.
Purchasing, Inventory & Financial Stewardship:
- Assist with purchasing, ordering, and inventory control for retail and coffee operations.
- Track, receive, verify, and organize all Sunset Provisions deliveries.
- Maintain accurate par levels to prevent shortages, over-ordering, and waste.
- Partner with local vendors to curate merchandise assortment and reorder retail items as needed.
- Manage coffee supplies and coordinate baked good and grab and go orders with the culinary team.
- Prepare inventory, sales, revenue, and staffing reports as required.
- Monitor supply, maintenance, labor, and COGS costs to ensure profitability aligned with annual goals.
- Support select buying needs across the property as needed.
General:
- At all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees.
- Participating in Kaimana Beach Hotel management training and leading emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with SOP’s in all outlets.
- Ensure compliance with requisition procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with local liquor laws, health and safety regulations, energy management practices, preventive maintenance protocols, and other standards to maintain consistency in operations.
