Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

  • Outreach and program support
    • Assist the Sr. Director of Neʻepapa with planning, coordinating, and implementing Center outreach activities and programs.
    • Support communication and relationship-building with Native American language communities, language practitioners, and center partners.
    • Help coordinate meetings, workshops, trainings, presentations, and other program activities.
  • Administrative Support
    • Maintain calendars, schedules, contact lists, program records, and other administrative materials.
    • Assist with scheduling meetings and coordinating logistics for outreach activities.
    • Prepare agendas, meeting materials, correspondence, sign-in sheets, and other program documents.
    • Track program activities, surveys, participation, deadlines, and follow-up items.
  • Communications and Resource Support
    • Help collect, organize, and maintain language revitalization resources and program materials.
    • Assist with updating digital and online resources, as assigned.
    • Support the preparation and distribution of information to Native American language communities and partners.
  • Program and Event Coordinator
    • Assist with logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, conferences, trainings and other Center activities.
    • Coordinate participant communications, materials, registrations, supplies, technology, and other event needs.
    • Provide on-site or virtual support during Center activities as needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts, participation and program outcomes.
    • Assist with gathering information and other documentation for the Sr. Director of Neʻepapa.
    • Document outreach activities and maintain organized electronic files.
  • General Support
    • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Sr. Director of Neʻepapa.
    • Work collaboratively with NALRC staff and partners while demonstrating respect for Native American languages, cultures, communities, and protocols.

 

Skills Required

  • Three years of Hawaiian language experience.
  • Three years of Administrative experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
