Are you passionate about supporting survivors and creating safer communities? The Domestic Violence Action Center (DVAC) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advocate to walk alongside survivors of intimate partner violence as they heal, rebuild, and reclaim their lives.

About the Role:

As an Advocate, you’ll work with survivors to provide emotional support, assistance navigating the civil and criminal justice systems, and connections to other social services. Advocates work closely with DVAC’s staff attorneys, paralegals, and community program staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one, long term advocacy services for a caseload of up to 35 clients
  • Assist with crisis support, safety planning, risk assessments and court/community accompaniments
  • Foster a supportive, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive space
  • Help clients access the tools and resources needed for long-term stability

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field OR at least 2 years of experience working directly with survivors of domestic violence. 
  • Knowledge of intimate partner violence (IPV)
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and emotional resilience
  • Familiarity with Oʻahu-based resources is a plus
