Position Overview: 

The Assistant Restaurant Manager supports the restaurant leadership team in the overall management of Front of House (FOH) operations at 53 By The Sea. Working closely with both FOH and BOH teams , the Assistant Restaurant Manager leads and supports as needed to ensure smooth and successful service throughout the restaurant. In partnership with the restaurant leadership team, the Assistant Restaurant Manager works to uphold the standards of excellence in all aspects of service at 53 By The Sea while driving a cooperative and team oriented environment. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include but are not limited to the following: 

Supervision and Management

  • Supports with the leadership and management of all FOH restaurant staff
  • Works collaboratively with management team to create a healthy and productive culture in alignment with the company’s core values 
  • Leads and supports staff meetings, briefings, etc. as needed 

Restaurant Operations & Service

  • Assists managers and staff wherever needed to ensure service needs are met 
  • Shares relevant company information and history with guests and staff 
  • Trains and enforces restaurant procedures, standards, and policies 
  • Collaborates with division leaders throughout the company to ensure cohesive and effective operations 
  • Remains up to date on all food and beverage offerings, products, and services 
  • Assists with all opening and closing duties 
  • Administers restaurant POS and tip systems and procedures 
  • Supports on-premise and off-property promotions for the restaurant as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • 2 -3 years of experience working in the restaurant industry, or equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience 
  • Relevant higher education degree in travel, hospitality or related field preferred but not required 
  • Experience in POS and cash-handling systems 

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Must bring an empathetic and coaching oriented leadership style
  • Servsafe certification preferred but not required
  • TB Clearance is required to work in the restaurant
  • Manager Liquor Card License (obtain if hired)
