At The Local General Store, we believe food is more than sustenance — it's connection. We're part whole-animal butchery, part artisan bakery, and entirely rooted in Hawai'i's local food system. We're looking for passionate bakers to join our team and help us bring that vision to life, one croissant at a time.

What You'll Create:
As part of our collaborative baking team, you'll craft everything from buttery laminated doughs and flaky danishes to seasonal cakes, cookies, and pies — all inspired by locally grown and harvested fruits and vegetables. You'll also get to:

• Mix, proof, and bake croissants and viennoiserie
• Prepare pastry creams, frangipanes, and other inclusions
• Develop and test new seasonal recipes
• Collaborate with our butchers on creative savory pastries
• Help grow our value-added goods: jams, pickles, and sauces

What We Offer:
• Starting pay: $18/hour + TIPS + Raises based on performance every quarter
• Part-time or Full Time | Sunday–Thursday
• Shifts: 5:00am–1:30pm, 5:30am–2:00pm, or 6:00am–2:30pm

Who You Are:
You don't need years of professional baking experience — you need heart. We're happy to train the right person. Ideally, you:

• Are passionate about food and Hawaiʻi's food system
• Thrive in a team setting and love collaborating
• Take pride in your craft, whether it's a perfect lamination or a well-stocked sheet pan
• Are excited to experiment with seasonal, local ingredients

Requirements:
• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2 years restaurant/cooking experience preferred (not required)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• TB Clearance required
• Food Handler's Certification required (can be obtained after hire)
• Available weekends
