JOB SUMMARY
The Barista greets customers, takes orders, produces quality Kaimana Coffee Company beverages, and assists with merchandise items and operates register at Sunset Provisions to create a memorable and elevated guest experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Baristas should be hospitality-driven professionals, providing thoughtful, knowledgeable, and warm customer service.
- Service guests with all food and beverage requirements in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
- Able to provide excellent service at a high-volume pace, remain calm under pressure, anticipate guests needs and preemptively resolve issues.
- Previous barista experience is preferred along with a willingness to learn, the dedication to constantly improve service standards, and a strong sense of commitment to working as a team.
- Receive and deliver food, beverage, and merchandise orders and collect payment.
- Perform cashiering functions by closing orders and ringing up merchandise to cards or charge to room.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and side-work duties according to station rotation assignment and established checklist.
- Ensure that store is kept stocked, tidy and clean.
- Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages.
- Consistently upsell food, beverage and promotional items to guests.
- Observes health and safety standards.
- Promote happy-spirited hospitality, culture, and lifestyle of Kaimana Beach Hotel.
- Ability to work as a team as well as independently.
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
- Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
- Medium work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to stand during entire shift.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner throughout the hotel.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Kaimana Beach Hotel standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
- Comply with Kaimana Beach Hotel standards, policies, and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Passion for excellence and great enthusiasm in providing exceptional service standards.
- Perform other duties as requested by management.
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
