Job Description

The Human Resources Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the Human Resources department, assisting with various HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and employee relations. This role involves coordinating HR projects, maintaining HRIS databases, and ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The HR Assistant will serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing inquiries and resolving issues related to HR processes. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the primary list below and other inherent duties and responsibilities associated with this position:

 

  • Assist in the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates. Prepare offer letters and facilitate pre-employment background checks.
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including conducting orientations, completing new hire paperwork, and ensuring a smooth transition into the company. Manage offboarding tasks such as exit interviews, processing final pay, and retrieving company assets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS system HR Symphony and physical files, including personal information, employment status, job changes, and performance evaluations.
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries. Coordinate with our HR partner to resolve issues, process claims, and update employee benefit records as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as company policies. Assist with audits, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Act as a point of contact for employees, addressing routine HR-related inquiries and concerns. Assist in resolving employee relations issues by providing guidance and support to both employees and management.
  • Support the development, implementation, and administration of HR programs and projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, wellness programs, and training sessions.
  • Provide assistance with payroll processing by ensuring accurate data entry of employee information, handling time-off requests, and resolving payroll discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data accuracy and assisting with troubleshooting issues and generating reports as needed.
  • Provide administrative support including scheduling meetings, preparing HR documents and reports, and handling general office tasks.
  • Assist in preparing internal communications related to HR policies, procedures, and events. Coordinate company-wide announcements and maintain the HR section of the company intranet.
  • Help organize and execute employee events, such as training sessions, team-building activities, and company celebrations.
