Job Description
As an IT Support Staff, you will work closely with the Network Administrator, serving as the first point of contact for technology support across the company's Honolulu operations. The role keeps employees and operations running by resolving day-to-day hardware, software, account, and connectivity issues, supporting specialized operational hardware (Android tablets, laser scanners, thermal printers), and assisting the IT team with routine network and system tasks. This position is a strong pathway toward a Network Administrator role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line IT support — respond to help-desk requests in person, by phone, and by email; log and track tickets to resolution.
- Set up, configure, image, and repair workstations, laptops, printers, phones, and peripherals.
- Install and update software; manage user accounts, passwords, and access under IT guidance (Active Directory / Microsoft 365).
- Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues (Wi-Fi, cabling, IP) and escalate complex problems to the Network Administrator.
- Support and maintain specialized operational hardware — Android tablets, laser scanners, and thermal printers — including configuration and preventative maintenance.
- Assist with data backups, hardware/software asset inventory, and IT documentation.
- Support employee onboarding / offboarding by preparing equipment, accounts, and access.
- Provide basic support for VoIP phones (NEC) and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint, Zoom).
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and secure IT environment, following IT policies and compliance requirements (FDA, USDA, ICCAT as applicable).
- Provide basic training and guidance to end users on common systems and devices.
