Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Lead Barista will maintain established responsibilities as barista for Kaimana Coffee beverages, assist with merchandise items purchased at Sunset Provisions. These tasks will be added to chosen lead barista's duties, but not limited to:
- Track inventory of coffee/syrups/dairy arriving for store
- Create strategies for up-sales
- Assist with training new barista/cashier candidate hire
- Assist in employee evaluations and performance reviews
- Maintaining efficient, and harmonious workflow when store manager present
- Responsible for opening or closing shifts
- Responsible to do inventory in the end of each month
- Assisting on finding coverage for calls out
- Assist with quarterly group trainings (signature drinks & latte art)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greets customers in a friendly manner
- Prepares signature beverages and baked goods, and assist with merchandise retail
- Answering customers’ questions about menu choices
- Promotes and recommends menu options
- Receive and process card payments
- Clean and sanitize bar area and equipment
- Maintain accurate stock and inventory
- Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages
- Assists with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Observe health and safety standards
- Promote happy-spirited hospitality, culture and lifestyle of Kaimana BeachHotel
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Full knowledge and experience as a barista
- Availability to work within operating hours (including weekends and holidays)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Retail, hospitality, and/or customer service experience
- Strong ability to multi-task
- Basic mathematical skills
- Passion for excellence in providing exceptional service standard
- Punctual, efficient and organized
- Supervisor or managerial experience
