Job Description
Job Title: School Cleaner

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 / hour

Job Summary: As a School Cleaner, you will work with a team of cleaners whose primary responsibility is to ensure the cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness of the campus premises. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your duties will involve performing cleaning tasks throughout the campus facilities, including classrooms, corridors, offices, restrooms, and common areas.

Hours: Part-time

Work day: Evenings (5:30 pm - 9:30 pm)


Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness in all areas of the school premises. Ensure that surfaces, floors, and fixtures are properly sanitized to meet hygiene standards.

Restroom Maintenance: Clean and disinfect restroom facilities regularly to ensure cleanliness and hygiene. Restock supplies such as toilet paper, soap, and hand sanitizers as needed.

Trash Removal: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from designated areas in accordance with school policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness in waste disposal areas.

Classroom Cleaning: Sweep, mop as needed, and vacuum carpets. Wipe down high touched areas daily. Quarterly cleaning includes ceiling fans

Floor Care: Sweep, mop, and polish floors using appropriate equipment and cleaning agents. Remove stains and spills promptly to prevent accidents and maintain the appearance of floors.

Common Area Maintenance: Clean and maintain common areas such as hallways, gymnasiums, cafeterias, and administrative offices. Ensure these areas are presentable.

Special Events Support: Assist with cleaning tasks before and after special events, meetings, or gatherings held within the school premises.

Compliance with Safety Regulations: Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing cleaning duties. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow proper procedures for handling cleaning chemicals.

Communication: Communicate effectively with school administration, fellow cleaners, and other staff members regarding cleaning schedules, task assignments, and any issues related to cleanliness and maintenance.


Previous experience in commercial or institutional cleaning preferred.

Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks.

Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

Flexibility to work during non-school hours

Compliance with background check and other screening requirements mandated for school employees.

Working Conditions:

● School cleaners typically work indoors within the school premises.

● May be exposed to cleaning chemicals and fumes, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

● Physical demands include standing, bending, lifting, and carrying objects weighing up to a certain limit.
