We’re seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Construction Contract Coordinator to join our client in Maui. This position plays a key role in managing, drafting, and negotiating construction-related agreements, coordinating with legal counsel, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a solid understanding of construction contracts and processes, and the ability to navigate complex transactions and claims with professionalism and precision.

Pay

$28 to $30 an hour

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, review, and negotiate a variety of design, construction, and service contracts.
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on legal matters, claims, and complex transactions.
  • Provide internal guidance and support regarding permitting and entitlement issues.
  • Manage and coordinate construction claims, litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
  • Support pre-litigation legal disputes and inquiries, helping to mitigate risk and avoid claims.
  • Provide day-to-day business legal assistance, ensuring adherence to company policies and best practices.
  • Oversee insurance compliance and management for construction and service contracts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk.
  • Assist with commercial transactions, from standard contracts to complex, high-value agreements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, engineers, vendors, and legal teams to ensure smooth execution of projects and contracts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Law, or a related field (JD or paralegal certification preferred).
  • 3–5+ years of experience in construction contract administration, legal coordination, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction law, contract structure, and risk management.
  • Experience managing claims, insurance compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and draft complex agreements with accuracy and clarity.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with Hawaii construction regulations, permitting, and entitlement processes is a plus.
