Job Description

**We are seeking a part-time retail associate for our Kāʻanapali store at Fairway Shops.**

Our retail associates are often the first Skyline employees who customers encounter, and as such, their ability to make customers feel welcome is critically important. Our retail associates are outgoing and love interacting with guests, answering questions about our tours and life on Maui. They check guests in for tours, process tour sales, merchandise sales, and equipment rentals, and generally ensure a first-class retail experience for all customers (retail associates earn a commission on all sales and rentals). Professionalism and a positive attitude are a necessity for this position. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Greeting customers and offering assistance.
  • Providing customers with detailed information about our various tour offerings.
  • Checking customers in for zipline tours and ensuring completion of all waivers.
  • Ensuring customers meet all age, weight, and physical requirements.
  • Answering customer questions or concerns.
  • Processing credit card payments for tours, merchandise, and equipment rentals.
  • Processing exchanges, returns, and refunds.
  • Taking reservations calls from prospective customers and fielding questions from tour agencies and concierge desks.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional retail environment.
  • Light cleaning (sweeping, dusting, etc.).
  • Assisting with stock management and arranging merchandise on shelves and displays.

Requirements

  • Currently residing on the island of Maui.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Dependability and reliability.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Professional demeanor toward guests, members of the community, and Skyline Hawai‘i teammates.
  • Computer literacy.
  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Available to work on weekends and holidays.
  • Previous retail experience is beneficial.
