Kona Brewing Hawaii. is now accepting applications for our new  Maintenance Manager role! This position provides technical and operational support for the Kona Brewery. Oversees all maintenance functions within the brewery and provides support to pubs as needed. Develops plans for preventative maintenance, overhauls, equipment upgrades and modifications. Assists in new equipment purchase, installation and training.

Specific job duties:

  • Supports the Company's Statement of Purpose and Values
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Mechanical Safety and related areas.
  • Supervise plant mechanical and building personnel – Provide daily work plans, resource assistance and oversight of mechanics and building personnel. Inspect and audit work completed.
  • Responsible for servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine tuning of equipment and processes. Test machines, devices, and equipment. Inspect defective equipment to identify the cause of error or other problems or defects. Manage Preventive Maintenance schedules and check lists. Determine and maintain equipment life cycles and prepare plans to replace obsolete equipment.
  • Provide technical and operational support for mechanical systems including during off hours. Provide problem solving information to supervisors & co-workers by telephone, written form or e-mail. Develop and implement an on-call list for weekends and holidays and those hours without direct maintenance support. Cross train brewers and packaging staff on operator maintenance activities to eliminate or reduce downtime.
  • Oversee the purchasing of mechanical, electrical and instrumentation equipment and spare parts. Maintain the spare parts inventory. Work with suppliers and vendors to ensure critical parts availability. Develop min/max levels of spare parts inventory to reduce cost of warehousing extra parts.
  • Assist in the hiring, training and professional development of maintenance employees.
  • Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment, as necessary.
  • Performs duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains attendance and punctuality according to company policy.

Required Experience:

5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of supervisory experience. Excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills including PLC based control systems (Allen Bradley preferred). Experience maintaining packaging equipment, conveyor systems and process systems. Ability to read and follow complicated drawings, specifications, and handbooks.

Physical, mental and Visual Demands
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stoop for up to 4 hours at a time
Lifting, carrying, reaching 25 lbs and less - frequently
Continuous mental and visual attention is required as well as performing complex tasks.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise all plant maintenance personnel. Provide leadership to operational staff as needed to support preventative maintenance and emergency repairs. Develop, track, and control maintenance spend to budget.

 

Education/Certifications(s): Associates degree or equivalent certificate in maintenance related field is required.
