General Summary Description

As an Associate Director of Sales, you will play a key role in driving the business for Kona Brewing Hawaii’s growth, and ensuring Kailua Beverage Company Brand’s success.  You will lead relationship with key buys across the state, and lead the On-Premise team for Oahu. Working closely with marketing, you will help develop and execute new ways to bring ideas and tactics to market. You will help develop and implement initiatives across digital and traditional channels, track performance, and ensure all efforts align with business goals. This position offers the opportunity to grow within the sales field and contribute to the company’s overall growth plan.

 

Essential Role Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to)

  • Chain Account Management
    • Lead the relationship with chain buyers for critical business-driving customers
    • Lead monthly calls with to report on Kona Brewing Business & Kailua Beverage Company and identify gaps, and work to close them
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
    • Proactively seek feedback from consumers through various channels to identify areas of improvement and success stories.
  • Manage, Guide & Support On-Premise Lead
    • Accountable for driving On-Premise volume by managing 1 sales member
    • Support On-Premise lead with clear and actionable annual goals
    • Host regular 1x1s to ensure regular connection and communication
    • Provide supportive feedback to help develop this employees skill and career path
  • Distributor Engagement
    • Guide distributor KAM & Brand Management team to deliver on needs of the customer
    • Participate on Monthly recap calls
  • Product Promotion
    • Educate customers  about our product offerings, including new releases and seasonal brews.
    • Host tastings, events, and promotions to drive awareness and sales.
    • Provide feedback from customers to the production and marketing teams.    
  • Market Analysis
  • Analyze sales & share data to uncover opportunities in the market.
  • Forecast & report sales data to wholesalers.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Reporting and Administration:
    • Present Power Point presentations to wholesalers and their sales force
    • Track sales performance and provide regular updates to management.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and inventory.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, wholesaler and brewing teams to align efforts with company-wide objectives and ensure multiple parties are aligned.
  • Initiative and Ideation: As a part of the team, you’ll be tasked with problem solving on your own, leveraging new ways to reduce barriers, connect with consumers, and drive the business.
  • Budget Management & Accountability: As people leader in the business, you’ll be responsible to manage within the budget allocated to you and ensure that your direct reports tdo the same .
  • People Development: As a leader, expect to hone your skills to develop trusting and open relationships with your direct reports. Ensure they have clear goals, and feel supported in how to achieve them. You will be respsonsible for annual performance reviews

 

Education/Certification(s):  Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience:  Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must have reliable transportation. 5 Years of Sales experience in a similar industry Must live or have prior experience in the market area for which responsible. Must be able to travel. Must be able to work flexible hours/days. Must have good record keeping and business communication skills. Must be familiar with the brewing industry and the beer distribution network. Must be highly proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Industry Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the beer industry, including market trends and competitive landscape. Established relationships within the industry.
  • Negotiation and Relationship Building: Excellent negotiation skills to secure high-value contracts. Strong relationship management with key accounts and stakeholders.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of financial metrics and budgeting processes. Ability to forecast sales and manage inventory effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to present ideas and strategies effectively to both internal and external audiences.
