We’re seeking a Tour Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day backbone of a highly rated, locally owned Maui tour company. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on organization, problem-solving, people leadership, and making magic happen behind the scenes—while honoring integrity, professionalism, and the perpetuation of Hawaiian culture.
This position begins part-time with immediate responsibility and is intentionally designed to grow into a full-time leadership role as tour volume, systems, and team needs expand. It’s a great fit for an experienced tour coordinator, dispatcher, assistant manager, or hospitality operations professional ready to step into true operations leadership.
🧭 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily Tour Operations: Oversee day-to-day tour logistics to ensure smooth, on-time, and high-quality guest experiences across both company brands.
- Scheduling & Dispatch: Coordinate guides, vehicles, and tours using booking platforms, shared calendars, email, and WhatsApp communication (Slack App a plus).
- Guide Support & Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for guides before, during, and after tours.
- Problem-Solving & Adjustments: Manage weather shifts, guest changes, staffing needs, and last-minute logistics with calm confidence.
- Guest Experience Oversight: Support the guest journey from booking through post-tour follow-up and issue resolution.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Help refine workflows, checklists, and operational systems as the company stabilizes and scales.
- Team & Leadership Development: Support onboarding, monthly team trainings, and guide readiness as responsibilities grow.
- Ownership Collaboration: Work directly with female ownership on operations, growth planning, and continuous improvement.
🛠 REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Experience in tour operations, hospitality management, travel operations, or logistics coordination
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and self-directed time-management skills
- Clear, professional, and kind communication with staff, vendors, and guests
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure
- Comfort with FareHarbor (or similar booking systems), Google Workspace, and digital scheduling tools (additional training offered)
- Maui tourism experience strongly preferred
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation (passenger vehicle exp a plus)

💰 COMPENSATION & GROWTH PATH
🔹 Starting Pay (Part-Time)
- $125–$150 per day, based on experience
- Approximately 25+ hours per week to start
- Consistent schedule with 1–2 designated days off
🔺 Performance-Based Progression
- Pay review after 120–180 days
- Opportunity to increase to $160–$170 per day as responsibilities expand
- Option to transition to a monthly retainer or salaried role as hours increase
