POSITION DESCRIPTION:  

Hawaii Technology Academy (HTA) and Kupu have partnered to host an Environmental Education Leader position at their Lahaina campus. 

As an education leader, you will be part of a program that provides support to the HTA Lahaina school, teachers, and students in natural resource pathways to help build a homegrown natural resources workforce.  

You will engage students grades K-12 in hands-on, work-based and ʻāina-based learning activities that will help rebuild the community and develop connection to place. The EEL will also develop curriculum that broadens student knowledge; foster long-term school and industry connections; and support and lead intersession and out-of-school programs.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

• At least 21 years of age 

• Possesses a passion and willingness to engage youth in a group setting  

• Strong team player who works well with others and on their own 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain professional relationships  

• Familiarity with Hawaii’s natural and cultural resources and landscapes 

• Must possess a current, valid driver's license  

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the school site 

• Must meet minimum driving abstract requirements  

• Must meet minimum criminal history background check requirements
