Job Description
Hawaii Academy of Arts and Science PCS seeks the following position for the 2026-2027 school year.

Educational Access Specialist
10 month

The Educational Access Specialist is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and overseeing compliance with student support processes related to Section 504 accommodations, attendance monitoring and interventions, and English Learner (EL) identification and assessment. This position provides operational and programmatic support to ensure alignment with federal, state, and school-level policies and procedures. Works to create a school culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, teamwork and high performance.

Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in related field.

Experience working with students in an educational setting.

Knowledgeable about current 504, EL and attendance practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

This position requires travel between multiple school sites. The employee must have daily access to a reliable vehicle, maintain a valid driver’s license, and carry current automobile insurance.

 

Must be ethical and honest.  Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, follow-through, and oral and written communication skills. Must be extremely flexible and able to work independently.  

Must be knowledgeable and comfortable working with technology and software programs, and be able to acquire additional skills for use of software, databases or other information systems as necessary.

Must be able to meet professional obligations through effective work habits such as: meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources in an effective and timely manner, and demonstrating respect for others.  Must be able to successfully analyze information, manage complexity, report results, enter data, and observe school and state policies as well as state and federal laws with attention to detail, confidentiality, and thoroughness.  Must accept responsibility and be self-motivated.  Must maintain a high level of confidentiality with regard to employees, students and parents and work effectively with school staff, district personnel, and the general public.
