Civil Construction Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee large-scale civil infrastructure projects from inception through completion. This role requires a dynamic professional who can manage multiple project sites, coordinate diverse teams, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex civil construction operations.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate all phases of civil construction projects including roads, bridges, utilities, and site development
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost-effective completion
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and on-site construction personnel
- Review and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance
- Ensure all work complies with building codes, safety regulations, and environmental requirements
- Manage project documentation including daily reports, change orders, and progress updates
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, and government agencies throughout project lifecycle
- Resolve construction issues and conflicts promptly and effectively
- Implement and enforce comprehensive safety programs and protocols
- Prepare and present project status reports to senior management and stakeholders
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships
- Monitor material deliveries and equipment utilization
- Conduct pre-construction planning and risk assessment
Requirements:
- Minimum 7 years of experience in civil construction management or related field
- Proven track record of successfully managing civil infrastructure projects valued at $5 million or more
- Strong knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
- Proficiency in project management software and construction scheduling tools
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, specifications, and legal requirements
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification required
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software
- PMP or similar project management certification preferred
- Experience with LEED or sustainable construction practices a plus
