Safety Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our organization and lead our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety and regulatory compliance. This position plays a critical role in protecting our workforce and ensuring that all operations adhere to federal, state, and local safety regulations within the agriculture, forestry, and fishing industry.

Responsibilities

The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive safety programs across all operational areas. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and work practices to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and other applicable regulations. The position requires preparing and submitting all required OSHA documentation, reports, and recordkeeping in accordance with regulatory timelines and requirements.

The successful candidate will conduct thorough safety checks of all work sites, vehicles, machinery, and equipment to verify proper functioning and adherence to safety protocols. This role involves investigating workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses, documenting findings, and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences. The Safety Coordinator will develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, ensuring staff members understand and follow proper safety procedures and protocols.

Additional responsibilities include staying current with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices, updating company policies and procedures accordingly, and serving as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections and audits. The position requires maintaining accurate safety records, tracking safety metrics, and preparing regular reports for management review. The Safety Coordinator will also coordinate emergency response procedures and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of experience in occupational safety, preferably within the agriculture. Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and compliance requirements is essential. Demonstrated experience in conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations is required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary to effectively develop safety documentation, deliver training, and communicate with employees at all organizational levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software is required. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed records.

Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP, CHST, or equivalent) is highly preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple work sites as needed is required. The position demands the ability to work in various outdoor environments and weather conditions typical of agricultural, forestry, and fishing operations.
