The Girl Scouts of Hawai'i is looking for full-time Girl Scout Facilitators Statewide. Multiple positions are available.
This is a full-time position and is responsible for leading and facilitating the Girl Scout Program in an after-school setting.
The program operates at 10 school sites, bi-monthly for two hours (a different school site each day). Additional meetings may be added, depending on the number of participants who register. Facilitators are employed by Girl Scouts of Hawai'i and are compensated for preparing, leading, and concluding program activities. Facilitators are expected to be available at the meeting site location at least 15 minutes prior to the meeting start time.
A successful candidate must:
- Be energetic, trustworthy, and committed to the values of Girl Scouting;
- Enjoy working with school-aged children;
- Be an independent and innovative thinker and problem solver who thrives in a team environment, is willing to tackle new challenges, and can manage multiple assignments while meeting specific deadlines with minimal supervision;
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to communicate with parents, school staff, community members, and Girl Scout staff;
- Have a basic understanding of child development and age-appropriate behaviors and skills;
- Be able to work some weekends and evenings;
- Undergo a comprehensive background check;
- Have a Bachelor’s degree, be working toward a degree in a related field, or have two years’ work experience in youth programs;
- The successful candidate will be required to become an adult member of Girl Scouts USA (you will be reimbursed for membership)
Must be authorized to work in the United States, 21 years of age or older, willingness and ability to pass a background check, and meet the following requirements.
- Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- Bachelor's (Preferred) or equivalent
- Childcare: 2 years (Preferred)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Driver's License (Required)
